On May 29, 2025, in Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province, Vinafco Shipping Joint Stock Company and Hoa Phat Container Manufacturing Company held a signing ceremony for a strategic container supply agreement. Under the terms of this partnership, Hoa Phat will supply containers to Vinafco in three phases, with the first phase involving nearly 1,000 TEUs. This milestone marks the beginning of a close collaboration between Vietnam’s leading container manufacturer and a professional logistics service provider, both aiming to connect manufacturing with supply chains in pursuit of sustainable development.
Contract Signing Ceremony in Ba Ria – Vung Tau
The signing ceremony took place at Hoa Phat’s container manufacturing plant in Phu My II Industrial Zone (Phu My Town, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province), with the participation of Mr. Dinh Xuan Hưng – General Director of Vinafco Shipping, Mr. Vu Duc Sinh – Director of Hoa Phat Container Manufacturing, along with senior executives from both companies and representatives from material suppliers.
The event also welcomed the presence of Mr. Chu Quan – Director Hoa Phat Container Flooring Factory, and Mr. Bui Minh Hung – CEO of Vinafco JSC, underscoring the importance and strategic nature of the agreement.
This signing not only marks a new chapter in the partnership between the two enterprises but also reinforces their mutual commitment to sustainable and long-term collaboration, laying the groundwork for future growth.
Nearly 1,000 TEUs to Expand Vinafco’s Fleet
According to the newly signed agreement, Hoa Phat will deliver containers to Vinafco in three phases. Phase 1 includes nearly 1,000 TEUs, consisting of both 20-foot and 40-foot containers, with delivery expected to commence in August 2025. These new containers will be swiftly integrated into Vinafco’s existing fleet and deployed on domestic shipping routes currently operated by the company.
This large-scale order is part of Vinafco’s broader plan to enhance its maritime transportation capacity. Mr. Dinh Xuan Hung, General Director of Vinafco Shipping, shared that the company is currently operating two container vessels and plans to add another new vessel this year. As the fleet expands, so does the demand for containers, requiring a stable and proactive equipment supply. The agreement with Hoa Phat ensures a reliable container source, further strengthening Vinafco’s service capabilities.
Previously, Vinafco had purchased 200 containers from Hòa Phát. After a period of operation, the products proved to be stable in quality and fully met practical requirements. This solid performance served as the basis for Vinafco’s decision to place a significantly larger order in this phase.
Plant Visits Highlight Production Capacity
Immediately following the signing ceremony, Vinafco’s leadership team visited Hoa Phat’s container manufacturing plant in Phu My II Industrial Zone to gain direct insights into the production process, materials used, and quality control systems in place.
The delegation also toured the Hòa Phát container flooring plant in Chau Duc Industrial Park (Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province), where they observed the high-quality industrial flooring production line — a key component in container fabrication. This hands-on visit allowed Vinafco’s leaders to better understand Hoa Phat’s scale and manufacturing capabilities, paving the way for smooth and effective collaboration during the contract execution.
Toward Sustainable Strategic Partnership
Both parties have affirmed that this partnership represents a long-term strategic relationship, leveraging each company’s strengths across the supply chain. From Hoa Phat’s perspective, as the leading container manufacturer in Vietnam, the company is committed to fostering close ties with logistics providers like Vinafco to bring “Made in Vietnam” products to global markets.
For Vinafco, with over 35 years of experience in logistics and maritime transportation, the company continues to expand its fleet, enhance service quality, and remain a dependable partner in optimizing end-to-end supply chains. This collaboration with Hoa Phat is not only a concrete step in Vinafco’s strategy to boost operational capacity but also a testament to the company’s commitment to growing alongside domestic manufacturing enterprises.
